Queensland Urban Utilities is committed to ensuring the long-term sustainability and efficiency of the region’s water and sewerage infrastructure. The Rosewood Marburg Road Water Main Upgrade Project is underway to improve the reliability and capacity of the water network.
The project is part of a $3.2 billion 10-year capital works investment by Queensland Urban Utilities to support growth and maintain water and sewerage services This is a $140,000 project to upgrade 406 metres of water main along Rosewood Marburg Road, between Arndt Road and Cochranes Road, in Tallegalla. The upgrade is being done to improve water pressure following complaints received by Queensland Urban Utilities and Ipswich City Council last year.
This project will use open trenching to upgrade the water main along Rosewood Marburg Road, between Arndt Road and Cochranes Road in Tallegalla from mid February 2012 until Wednesday, 23 March 2012, weather permitting. Work hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
The following community impacts may be experienced:
• Minor traffic impacts around work sites
• Some work may cut across driveways
• Construction noise and dust disturbances associated with excavation and work vehicles accessing the site during project work hours
There will be a temporary water shutdown for customers when the new water main is connected to the existing system. Notification will be provided to all affected customers, Emergency Services – Fire & Rescue and Queensland Health at least 48 hours prior to any temporary water shutdown. Signage and traffic management will be in place to ensure driveway access is maintained for residents and businesses at all times.
