Rosewood Laidley Road culvert will be fixed by July

This is a Department of Main Roads and Transport  (DTMR) Project costing $300,000. DTMR advises the purpose of the works at this location is to rehabilitate the damaged culvert and to restore water flow and drainage at this location.

The flooding events of Nov 2008 and May 2009 obviously highlighted deficiences in the culvert. The contractor is demolishing the wing walls on the inlet and outlet sides and extending the cement apron. Additionally with the opening up of the water course it is envisaged more flow will then go under the culvert rather than across the roadway.

DTMR advises that construction will be completed towards the end of July. Motorists are advised that there will be traffic disruptions due to lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the worksite until the works are completed. At times, there will also be noise associated with these works due to the operation of machinery. Traffic control will be on site at all times.
