Ipswich residents invited to next Fit Flicks Movies in the Park

Ipswich’s Fit Flicks Movies in the Park program will resume again in February at Walloon.

Ipswich City Council’s Community Engagement Committee Chairperson Councillor Heather Morrow said the animated family film Wall-E would kick off this year’s program on February 13 at Henry Lawson Bicentennial Park on Karrabin-Rosewood Rd, Walloon.

The session would begin at 6.30pm and run until 9pm. Families can take the opportunity to participate in the 15 minutes of fitness activities prior to the movie, which is run by a qualified aerobics instructor. This is particularly popular with children and that’s great to see. Fit Flicks Movies in the Park was a fun way to bring families and the community together. Since it’s launch in 2007, Fit Flicks Movies in the Park has become a popular part of the city’s regular events calendar. Our beautiful parks, fresh air, exercise, a free movie and the company of family and friends, we can’t think of a better way to spend a balmy summer evening.

Wall-E is based in 2700 and after hundreds of years doing what he was built for, WALL-E, short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter – Earth class, discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when a sleek life-seeking robot, EVE, is delivered to Earth by a spaceship, dispatched by the automated system aboard the Axiom – where humans have been existing in a robot-assisted daze for 700 years.

EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future and is sent back to space to report her findings to the mother ship – to advise that it is safe to return home.

Meanwhile, WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy.
